Application available online-only at www.KiaJobsInGeorgia.com
LaGrange, Ga. - Kia Motors Manufacturing Georgia, Inc., announced today that it has begun accepting applications for positions at its auto assembly facility that is currently being built in West Point, Ga.
“Kia is now hiring!” declared Byung Mo Ahn, president of Kia Motors Manufacturing Georgia, Inc., during a press conference held at the Callaway Center on the campus of West Georgia Technical College. “We are looking for the best-qualified candidates to become Kia team members, and the process begins by applying online at www.KiaJobsInGeorgia.com.”
The application will only be available online at www.KiaJobsInGeorgia.com between Jan. 8 and Feb. 7, explained Randy Jackson, director of human resources for Kia Motors Manufacturing Georgia, Inc. Jackson added that the advantage of an online-only application process is that it ensures that all interested citizens have equal opportunity for applying.
“People from across the state can apply without standing in lines,” Jackson said. “If anyone doesn’t have their own computer, all of Georgia’s 53 Department of Labor Career Centers are prepared to assist any interested applicant.”
The online application process involves three positions: Production Team Member, Maintenance Team Member, and Die Maintenance Team Member, Jackson explained. He added that after the application period ends Feb. 7, qualified candidates will be invited to participate in a pre-employment assessment process, which has been designed by Quick Start, Georgia’s internationally acclaimed workforce development program. Quick Start will also be designing and implementing Kia’s customized training for the company’s team members. Georgia’s technical colleges will also provide workforce training support.
Also participating in the press conference were Commissioner Ken Stewart, Ga. Dept. of Economic Development; Commissioner Michael Thurmond, Ga. Dept. of Labor; and, Commissioner Ron Jackson, Ga. Dept. of Technical and Adult Education. Also attending the event were numerous dignitaries and civic leaders from the surrounding area.
“Part of the reason we’re here today is because of the strong support from our local communities,” Jackson said.
