Alcon, the global leader in eye care innovations, has once again partnered with Georgia Quick Start and Gwinnett Technical College to support the company's most recent expansion. This new training partnership will support the addition of over 160 new jobs to the city's largest employer.

The John's Creek, Ga., location is expanding to make room for six new enhanced LS3 lines, Alcon's newest and most technologically advanced manufacturing line for the production of contact lenses. Quick Start and Alcon worked diligently to prepare a training plan that incorporates manufacturing processes specific to the enhanced LS3 lines, which will produce over 3,400 more units per day as compared to the original LS3 machines. This truly customized training will allow Alcon's new team members to become productive at a much 1uicker pace without compromising current training packages for existing LS1 and LS3 machines.

"Quick Start really is the difference. It's not that any manufacturing organization can't start on its own, but Quick Start accelerates it," explains Jason Mastry, head of manufacturing for Alcon's LS3 Dailies line. "We believe with Quick Start's involvement, we think we can cut our start up time in half."

Once Quick Start finishes its training program with Alcon, Gwinnett Tech will provide long-term support to ensure the company has access to a pipeline of highly qualified employees.

"Gwinnett Technical College is proud to partner with Quick Start in training Alcon employees as this innovative company expands its footprint in North Fulton," said Dr. Glen Cannon, Gwinnett Tech president. "We look forward to contributing to the success of Alcon's new manufacturing facility, as well as to the economic health and well-being of our community."
